Introducing Google Website’s

Google.com

I still remember building my own website for the first time, I did it entirely through HTML coding thanks to my Peachpit book (I still have that book and refer to it often), then  they came out with Dreamweaver to make it easier. But if even that has held you back from creating your own website there is now a new offering by non other than Google.com….

Google.com has rolled out a free service designed so that in just a few clicks even the clueless will be able to quickly set up and update their own Web site, a great idea if you have a small business.  It’s another jab at their rival, Microsoft, which sells software to help you build websites.  While Microsoft’s programs are installed on your computers, Google’s software is on its own machines so you can access it from anywhere with an Internet connection.

Over the past couple of years, Google.com has introduced free versions of word processing, spreadsheet, and calendar programs to take business away from Microsoft.  However, Microsoft is trying to get even by buying Yahoo for more than $40 billion.
