John Abbott Continuing Education

Well, as I’ve alluded to some of you that I had a big announcement to make before Christmas and now that all of the details have been settled…I’ve decide to go back to school! Only this time people will be bringing ME apples…(do people still do that?)! :0)

I decided that after all of this time working in the communications field and running my own small business that it was about time I started sharing some of the things that I’ve learned. So starting February 11th, 2009 I will be teaching a course as part of John Abbott College’s Continuing Education Program called “How to Market Your Small Business”.

I believe that when times get tough, it’s time to get creative and innovative with your product’s, your service’s and most importantly, your marketing. Now is the time to invest in the future and look inwardly at how you can improve so you can prepare for the next boom.

The course is taught in English and is open to anybody with a small business, whether you run it from home or you have a small factory with 50 employee’s, to teach practical ways of marketing your product or service to your target customer’s.

The course number is 900-309-00-01, it’s a 6 weeks course every Wednesday night 7-10 p.m.

To get the course outline and the registration form click this link (.PDF)

If you own a small business I hope you’ll come and learn with me. If you know somebody with a small business they could probably use a course like this right now, do them a favour and let them know about it.

Look for this in the Calendar

David Tylers Back

David Tylers Back

David Tylers Back (and trying to get an iPhone endorsement deal it seems)

Well, it certainly has been busy since my last blog just over a week ago and I wanted to take a paragraph to thank everybody who sent emails of encouragement, who called Q92 wondering where I went and to those who added their comments to this blog and the Fagstein blog too…Steve, it seems that people do ‘mourn David Tyler’! …but I’m not gone, far from it…I’ve just been busy and from the looks of that picture (above) I should probably take some time out for a hair cut this week. By the way, how do you like my Doug Camilli imitation? You certainly can’t do that kind of entertaining on the radio!

Besides taking care of the business, I’ve been working on my latest YouTube.com video a behind the scenes look at the making of a TV commercial (from the voice guys perspective of course) which I should have here later this week.

Plus, I’ve been keeping a keen eye on C.E.R.N. for the last few weeks, some very interesting things going on over there in Geneva as they’ve been testing the largest particle smasher the world has ever seen, it’s 27 km around. If you’re a regular reader of the Blah, Blah, Blog you already know about my fascination with it and it’s implications for major scientific discoveries including proof of the existence of other yet unseen dimensions, not to mention the so-called ‘God Particle‘. I’m working on a blog about it for tomorrow morning.

All that to say there’s more to come so don’t go far! Bookmark this blog so you won’t lose your way back.

Economy Crash

I just came across this forum discussion about the state of the US economy and found it compelling and wanted to share. Read the comments that follow on the page here:

“So you complained when oil reached $2 a gallon.
You got upset and complained louder when it passed $3/gallon.

You decided to sacrifice other things in your life. Perhaps you have given up eating out. Perhaps you’ve given up Cable TV. Still have a house? After all, FOX News says everything is just fine. (They’re right, the system is finally working as intended

Now you are paying $4 per gallon that you put into your vehicle that you’ve ignorantly decided gives you “freedom”.

What more can you sacrifice in your life to further inflate the bank accounts of the greedy? How much of your blood and sweat are you going to hand over, in the name of “freedom” ?

Do you really feel your CAR gives you freedom? Do you really think that it’s yours? Not simply a borrowed tool, that the greedy let you hold onto, so that you can keep making massive payments to them??

I know, you continue to support all that is wrong in this world, because you are concerned about the poor oil man’s family, and them not yet having enough millions to buy some more yachts or private islands.

Your car is your tool to “freedom”?? YOU are the TOOL. You obediently keep going to work so you can pay these taxes that fund wars and greed. You loyally keep filling your gas tank to make sure some oil corporation CEO can laugh all the way to the bank.

Do you think they care about you? Why dedicate your whole life, most waking hours, to making sure that the greedy will thrive, and wars can continue to be declared, in your name?

I hope that you can sleep at night, with your savings drying up, your family soon going hungry, and world war 3 a very real possibility.

Have you thought about what you can give up next, as the gas prices go higher?

Take as long as you need to think of it. Wait too long, and the choice may already be made for you……….”

COMMENT: This is a crisis of greed, not a crisis of supply

We can only hope that things don’t get as bad as they are  South of the border…if history dictates, whenever the US sneezes Canada catches a cold…
